Process simulation

Process simulation applies computer calculation to solve material and energy balance. Applications lie in optimizing the efficiency of unit-operations; revamping existing plants according to environmentally sound and viable solutions; analysing 'what-if' scenarios for best technologies; risk analysis for particular situations and under certain conditions; training of operators and technicians on virtual plants under safe conditions

PRO/II (process simulation) performs rigorous mass and energy balances for a wide range of known chemical processes. Through a comprehensive chemical-physical properties databank system, a library of unit operation models and a powerful model analysis tool it is possible to develop, evaluate, screen and scale-up process flow-sheet alternatives. This simulation program is designed to handle complex electrolyte chemistry in both strong and weak electrolyte systems and can model a wide range of processes in the fertilizer industry, inorganic acid plants, and environmental applications.
